It was an online, "record yourself giving the answer" interview. While I don't mind this in principle, I thought it was strange that I had no actual human interaction before, during, or after the interview. Only automated emails and the online portal. It felt disconcerting and a bit... scam-y? I'm sure it's just due to the size of the company and I'm a fan of improving interview turnaround time but this felt very robotic. Not to mention, I was asked to answer questions that appeared to have no relation to the position I was applying to. Such as "Explain how you manage stakeholder expectations" which is extremely vague and the job description not once mentioned stakeholder engagement as part of the role. Not being able to interact with interviewers to understand how to answer questions effectively to the role is very counter-intuitive. Last glaring issue with this approach is in the job title I was applying to... they're looking for someone with excellent communication skills but how am I supposed to show that effectively if I'm just recording myself in my room?
