I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Illumina (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2015
Interview
I was called by the recruiter. After the phone interview I was invited to an onsite, which involved a presentation on my previous work followed by individual interviews by an interview panel of 6-7 people. They asked a variety of technical questions. Most of the questions were on statistics and algorithms.

pre-recorded video interview. very complicated and nerve-racking. not good for those who are introverts and nervous in front of camera. I wish they had more guidelines or more practice opportunities.
