I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Image Sensing Systems (Saint Paul, MN) in May 2011
Interview
The interview here was pretty average. I talked to a lot of people and it became clear throughout the course of the interview that where this company is with regards to software process and where it thinks is are two very different things.
My main complain comes from after the interview. If you're not going to offer me the job that's fine, but have the courage to call me and say it. Even just send me an e-mail! Respect the fact that I took a day of my life and much cherished vacation time to come talk to you. Completely ignoring me is just childish.
After a week I wrote an e-mail to check in. Nothing. After a 2nd week I wrote a 2nd e-mail to check in. No response. I tried calling, but they "couldn't talk to me then." so I left a message. Never heard back. I never tried again, having lost any interest in dealing with a company behaving so unprofessionally.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was most surprised by the fact that they had a set of pre-determined interview questions which were divided among the interviewers equally. Some interviewers were keenly interested in talking to me, others in merely making it through the questions they were required to ask and scribbling down my answers nearly vertbatim.
