Long interview process, dragged out over almost 2 months. First interview was with a Senior Manager (30 minute chat to assess fit). Followed by an assignment that took around 2-3 hours to do, and an hour long panel interview to discuss the assignment. Lastly, another 30 minute chat with the COO. The Exec Assistant who was giving me updates basically promised that the company would be able to offer a certain salary range given my experience. But later the COO basically said that won't work, unless they brought me in at a higher level. He seemed concerned with the salary expectation. I think there there is a communication gap within their organization. At the 5 week mark (after the COO) interview, I was promised a decision within a week. Instead of a decision at the end of that week, I was then asked to wait almost another 3 weeks for a decision, as they were still interviewing other candidates! They didn't keep their word, which to me is another red flag. The cherry on top-rejection email was automated and extremely impersonal. After having spoken multiple times to many team members throughout this interview process, the least they could have done is a personalized email from a human being. In a nutshell the interview experience was a bad one, and made me feel like I wasted my time and efforts. Even if I had been offered the job, I would have had serious reservations about accepting it. It really is a pity how they are treating potential candidates, because they are doing some really cool work.
