Got contacted for an interview after sending the CV. The interview was 1:1 and I got asked a few questions related to the topic of the position. Afterwards, I had to solve three Linux/programming exercises set by the interviewer over the course of a week. Got an email offer the next week.

Contact the professor via email and show the reason of joining their group. Online interview about 30 minutes to discuss my area of interest and find out the position that suits me best. Offer accepted.
You just had to cold email your professors and ask for an interview. But do not worry most professors are kind and nice. Sometimes maybe you can even knock the door and ask them directly.
