Worst Interview Experience EVER!
The interview was for Consultative Sales position. I was interviewed by 6 different people (ranging from co-founders (2 of the 3) to Marketing Head & the Business Head) from InMobi over a period of 2+ months!
Every interview i underwent exposed InMobi's lack of clarity (from their top to senior management people) on what kind of Sales profile they wanted. Every one of the 6 people had their own versions of what would be the ideal sales profile to be successful in the said role. The interviewers (particularly the Business Head) also was averse to addressing genuine queries about the role and the kind of investment (time and effort) they would be putting in me to get me up-to-speed and be successful positioning their new 'Marketing Cloud' offering.
I failed to see the above as a RED FLAG and still continued with the process because of busy schedules of top management and thereby lack of time in addressing my queries, InMobi's brand name and expecting them to be professional. However in a bizzare and extremely unprofessional manner, the recruiter who over the last 2+ months was calling up to communicate every important to utmost insignificant detail about the interview rounds, suddenly drops a whatsapp message communicating that they will no longer be taking my candidature forward after asking me for my salary slips and offer letter from previous employer.
When I tried inquiring as to what the reason was for their decision to not move forward with my candidature, let alone the basic courtesy of calling back to inform me of their decision, they decided to avoid taking my calls altogether. Utter lack of clarity on their part with the expectations from the individual being hired for the said role TO absence of professionalism on the part of recruiter left me with a terrible impression of InMobi.
