      Interview

The Services Selection Board (SSB) is a crucial evaluation process in the defense forces of India, responsible for selecting candidates for officer-level positions in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is a rigorous five-day assessment designed to evaluate candidates on various parameters, including psychological aptitude, intelligence, leadership qualities, and physical fitness. The SSB process consists of multiple stages, including the Screening Test, Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, Personal Interview, and Conference Round. It aims to assess the candidate's Officer-Like Qualities (OLQs) such as decision-making, teamwork, communication skills, and situational awareness. Unlike conventional exams, the SSB focuses on personality traits and leadership potential rather than just academic knowledge. Successful candidates are recommended for training at prestigious institutions like the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), and Naval or Air Force Academies, where they undergo further military training before commissioning as officers in the Indian Armed Forces.
