I recently applied for a sales position. The two employees I met with were visiting a company nearby so we agreed to meet at a local restaurant, which I thought was nice of them to offer.
That said, my interview at Industry Weapon was a bit odd. They kept asking me what I knew about their menu, particularly their breakfast specials. I did a lot of research on them before showing up and never saw any references to a menu. They also asked me if I had ever dined at one of their restaurants, but I (again) wasn't aware they had any restaurants. I thought they created software.
About twenty minutes into the interview I realized that I was paired up with the wrong interviewer! I was actually interviewing with the manager of the restaurant. Needless to say, I was embarrassed.
The two employees I was there to meet did end up finding me and we had a great discussion about what I am looking to do and why I thought I would be a good fit for their team. They treated me to an amazing breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, frosted flakes, orange juice, coffee, apple pie, bacon, sausage, a blueberry muffin, water, and a donut.
