informal interview in front of a cup of coffee in order to determine motivation and knowledge of the candidate. Started with open questions regarding the CV (studies, previous job experience) and then started to explain the research topics of the research group.

A typical academic interview, I gave a presentation (around 40min) about my previous work and I was interviewed by my future group leader, talked formally with group members and talked again less formally with group leader. I was told the same day I got the position.
