We ask the same questions of every teacher that we interview. Our questions are designed to determine how well applicants will work with students of different ages and to make sure they meet the logistical requirements of the job. We ask all applicants if they have a car that they can use to transport books and other student materials. We also like to confirm that the applicant understands that they might have to travel for teaching assignments. The entire interview is meant to determine if the job is a good fit for the applicant.
The Institute of Reading Development is committed to employment policies and practices based upon individual skill, ability, performance, effort, and professional conduct. The spirit and intent of the laws prohibiting discrimination are fully implemented in all working relationships at the Institute. We provide equal employment opportunities for all applicants and employees irrespective of sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or any other protected status, in all the Institute’s employment practices.
