I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Island Insurance (Honolulu, HI) in Aug 2016
Interview
Their interview process was as standard as any other company I've interviewed with. I came in and met with the person who would be my direct supervisor. I was then invited back to meet with my supervisor's supervisor. Finally, I was brought back to meet with the VP of one of their subsidiary companies. The interviewers were always polite and cordial. The process did take longer than what I am used to but the position they were trying to fill was new and they had nail down the job description and get that approved before being able to move forward with hiring. I did not mind the wait since I was still working at the time.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Island Insurance (Honolulu, HI) in May 2015
Interview
Interview process is very laid back but yet formal. Submitted my resume got a call in a week or so for a F2F interveiw. I met with the Department head and Department VP. They asked me questions about past experiences and how that would relate to the position. It was mainly talking story and seeing if the position would fit my work ethics and persona.

Interview
Horrible, unprofessional, walked from building to building in the hot sun while dressed for an interview. It was ridiculous and completely unprofessional. These people need to take lessons from large insurance carriers and watch proper interviews especially for management levels. Too casual and unprofessional. Going to hr then being walked to another building where claims manager is then to another building where the main manager is does not make sense. Plan the interview in one place and then everyone should go there, don't send the interviewee all over the place!

Nothing was difficult to answer as it was too informal.
