I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney (Plano, TX) in Mar 2016
Interview
1st round phone/in person interview then straight on to final round at HQ in Plano. 1st day is meet and greet with directors and VPs second day is interviews, 3-4 behavioral/technical. They're actually a really cool bunch--it's almost as if the entire Finance division has a company culture of its own, separate from the rest of the company. Very talented group. Would've loved to accept the offer but seeing as I'm just starting out my career, I wanted to go more towards a general role rather than such a specific industry like retail.

Interview
1st Round: Quick Phone Q&A with your recruiter. Very laid-back, they just want to find out why you applied for the position, what motivates you etc.
2nd Round: Phone Interview with someone in the Finance Department, most likely a senior director.
3rd Round: If they like you enough and you've impressed everyone so far, they fly you out to Dallas for a all-day interview with 5 different people in the Finance Department. I spoke with people from HR and Operations to Controllers.
Overall, I enjoyed the interview process with JcPenney. Everyone was professional and on-time with letting me know when and if I moved on in the process. One thing I remember clearly was my recruiter acting very standoffish when I got to HQ in Dallas. She acted as if I was bothering her with my presence the entire time I interacted her (I don't know if it was just an off day for her, but it left a sour taste in my mouth.) One of my interviewers was also chewing gum while asking me questions and it threw me off slightly.
