I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at JEA in May 2008
Interview
Went to interview and sat among the panel. There was a few questions from each person on the panel. I had to submit my resume, transcripts etc. After a few weeks I received an offer letter. The salary amount was the same amount offered to every candidate regardless of qualifications.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at JEA in Feb 2018
Interview
Long process of online questionnaires and then an in person proctored test with basic questions including math and professional personality sections. The process felt organized but unnecessary. I also took the test with another applicant for the same job so it seems like they send a lot of candidates through at the same time.

General questions like "How do you react to failure or unexpected difficulties at work"
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at JEA (Tallahassee, FL) in Nov 2017
Interview
They requested a Skype interview rather than a traditional phone or face to face interview. This was the usual strength/weakness type questions with a few technical questions added. They seemed like nice people during the interview but they could not provide a clear description of the job responsibilities.
Then they arranged two separate tests for me at an local independent testing company. The tests consisted of reading comprehension and logic questions and graphical interpretations. These tests consumed about 4 hours each on two separate Saturdays.
After all of this, JEA just went silent. I did not get a TNT letter or a phone call or any follow-up communication. Based on my interview experience JEA is an inefficient / ineffective organization where people are not respected as individuals and valued as professionals. I can imagine a chaotic and frustrating work environment.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at JEA (JAX Beach, FL) in Jan 2014
Interview
easy, but in person. Sat with a panel impressed them by answering some questiones. Got a ob offer few days later. Great job but limited growth opportunity. People are lazy money gets wasted big time. Engineers are overlooked. They are taken advantage of.
