I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at JSW Group (Mumbai) in Sept 2024
Interview
First comes the resume shortlisting. They look for technical alignment with the role, academic consistency, and any real hands-on work like projects, internships, or competitions. If you’ve done something applied rather than just theoretical, that helps.
Next is the online assessment. It usually tests logical reasoning, basic aptitude, and domain fundamentals. It’s not meant to trick you. They just want to see if you think clearly and can apply basics under time pressure.
After that you typically face a technical interview. This is where they dig into your project experience, your understanding of core subjects relevant to your role, and your ability to break problems into solvable chunks. They want proof that you didn’t just write projects on paper, but actually understand the mechanics behind them.
The final step is the HR or managerial round. This part is about personality, communication, drive, and cultural fit. They want to see if you’re someone who can work in teams, adapt fast, take responsibility, and stay grounded while learning quickly.
What this really means is that they aren’t just searching for the smartest person in the room. They’re looking for people who are practical, dependable, and eager to grow in a real industrial environment.
