The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Jimmy John's (Champaign, IL) in Apr 2011
Interview
The interview processes are comfortable and easy; however, the position itself is less than desirable. 60+ hour weeks with one day off - no vacation for a year, and only$38,000. Plus, the hours fluctuate and often there are times when you need to work til 4 am.
I interviewed at Jimmy John's (Houston, TX) in Jun 2020
Interview
Very easy, 15 minute discussion about previous experience in the food industry. Just asked about my past education and my abilities to fulfill the role that I applied for. It was a casual conversation and the communicated well.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Jimmy John's (Champaign, IL) in Oct 2015
Interview
I got a referral so I just interviewed with the area manager, which took about a half hour and then he extended an offer to me and asked that I get back to him within the next week.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to work for us? What will you bring to the table?
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Jimmy John's (Chicago, IL) in Jul 2012
Interview
The interviews were conducted in groups, which was kind of awkward. The owner eliminated one guy immediately for having a slightly visible tattoo on his arm, despite not having said anything about it before the interview. He wound up asking about my catering experience and had me plan out an entire catering menu for a party he was throwing. I spent several hours over the next two days planning an entire party, pricing it out, tracking down coos and servers to assist with the event and nearly renting out equipment. When I submitted my menu, he loved it. The next day he told me the party was cancelled so I had to call the cooks and servers and tell them their was no gig anymore. It was embarrassing.

Question 1
The catering thing was definitely unexpected and weird.
