      Human Resources Consultant Interview

      15 Nov 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Jinji HR in Oct 2023

      Interview

I was excited about this interview. I was scheduled for a 15-minute phone interview a week in advance. The interviewer never showed up. I emailed them after waiting 15 minutes to see if it was still a good time. They said their meeting went over. Their response didn’t seem to care I waited the entire interview with no word from them. I responded no worries I’m still available. They responded with I’ll call you in 30 minutes. They never called me. I sent a response email over an hour and a half later saying this doesn’t seem to be a fit. I'm surprised an HR consulting company does this to candidates when they should lead by example. I realized my HR philosophy doesn’t align with theirs. I removed myself from the interview process since it appeared they didn’t take the candidate's experience seriously, especially with other HR professionals.

In response to the anonymous interview candidate – mea culpa. Your time is valuable and on two separate occasions you were made to feel that we didn’t value it and for that you have our sincere apologies. As you pointed out, as a professional HR firm, the recruiting firm we use should have better handled the two unforeseen circumstances that ended up conflicting with your interview times. Whether handling a crisis for a client or taking a child to the emergency room, our recruiter should have been able to pass your interview to another team member smoothly so that you were not caught up in those situations. As a result of your experience, we have improved our process for responding to emergencies. We thank you for your candid input and wish you well in your job search.
