I interviewed at Jobr (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
Hung up on this one and the first time I’ve ever done that when talking directly to a company. Interviewer was rude, combative, and arrogant. He demeaned me for moving away from San Francisco to Middle America to work at a large company. He kept asking the stupid rate yourself 1-10 question and I explained I couldn’t offer such precision accurately. I said I was a solid developer who writes good code. Even though that is clear, he kept asking me to rate myself. What does a 8 or 9 even mean? After asking me 4 times, with a hostile tone, I said this interview is over. Avoid!
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Jobr in Jul 2017
Interview
I had a 30 minute phone screen with a Principal Software Engineer, which I ended in 15 minutes because it took an unprofessional turn. The interviewer had very few questions for me, and didn't seem very interested in following up, or asking questions about anything I said. After I asked a few clarifying questions about the role and team that indicated to me that the position was not a right fit, I respectfully let him know. He replied that he only interviewed me because I was recommended by a co-worker, but that he personally felt my experience level was too low. He said that ideally he would interview a candidate that had "been around the block with a few years more experience" than me. After feeling fairly patronized and disrespected, I ended the interview and thanked him for his time.
I didn't know if he was having a bad day or what, but after hearing he did't really want to interview me in the first place, I understood why the whole conversation felt so forced, and realized that I wasn't really given a fair shot at the interview. Furthermore, it strikes me as ironic that a company whose product is designed to help people with the hiring process, has such an unprofessional person conducting and limiting their own hiring processes.

Interview
Interview process was very straight forward, first their was a phone screen, then I came onsite and met with 4 or 5 people, then they moved to make me an offer. Team makes a decision very quickly and they don't waste time.

They ran me through a few exercises to benchmark my skills, then they asked me a mix of traditional interview questions, with questions to gauge my working style, ability, interests, strengths, etc.
