You start the process by completing a range of various questions on the JPL website. These are quite time-consuming. You have about 3/4 to fill out which take about 20 minutes each. After finishing this, I found about 2 days later that I was successful and had been called in for a 'group assessment'. After that, you get to choose your time slot. I received the text on Wednesday and completed my interview on Saturday morning at 10. For the assessment, I was with 5 other people so there was 6 all together, and 3 others joined us at 11 for the group portion of the assessment. Basically, we began with our individual interviews. 3 of us were taken off at a time and got taken into a smaller room. I got asked about 6 questions; I can't remember everything I was asked. About 4 of them were 'personal', which consisted of questions like 'give an example of a time where...' The 2 technical questions were along the lines of 'what would you do if'. I was also asked about my availability. This took about 20-30 minutes, and I then went back into a room with everyone else. We sat in groups of 3 and were joined by the 3 other candidates. For our group assessment, we were required to create a guide for a new partner who'd just joined John Lewis. We had to give 5 tips for 'great customer service', 5 tips to 'deal with an unhappy customer', and 3 tips to 'gain a better knowledge of the company/store'. Make sure you're taking part and sharing your opinions because you're being watched the whole time. Give insightful comments and research a bit about the John Lewis company. They're all about 'quality', 'value' etc. After talking to your group for about 15 minutes you present your ideas. After that, we were able to leave, and the 3 other candidates who came at 11 did their 1-1 interviews. I found out on Tuesday at 12. Overall it was a great experience but just make sure you come prepared, look presentable and speak up when necessary. However, don't appear bossy not letting anyone else speak because they want to see you working as a team.
