I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Sept 2010
Interview
There was 3 hour long interview with the manager of the electromagnetic area in which he talked and talked and talked...
Then i did my presentation. It went well. Then i went to lunch with 3 people. Then and group interview with 2 people. Then they asked me who else was i interviewing with....they said they wanted to know who was the competition. Everything went extremely well. They were very positive.....they sent me to HR to learn about benefits and pay. They said they would contact me...and that they could not wait for me to start....
Then all of a sudden they said they wanted someone with more experience...even though they knew my experience level before they setup the onsite interview.

Interview
1 hr presentation of my research followed by multiple 30-45 minute interviews with different teams and team members, conducted over Zoom. Conducted over multiple days. Scheduling seemed rushed, and was not able to answer questions as I would have preferred

Interview
Apply online. Some HR person reaches out with an interview packet consisting of compensation. Consisted of a 1-hour-long talk to a general audience of interested team members, followed by interviews with several interested groups at the company. Team members from each group interview with you.
Afterwards you rank the groups based on who you fit in best with, and HR goes down the list asking whether or not they want you (if not then a comment on why). The first group gets to extend an offer.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Feb 2017
Interview
Overall a good experience. There was a brief phone screening to make sure I was who I claimed to be, and I was then flown out to Laurel for an interview with the group. Everyone seemed really nice and extremely satisfied with their current position.
