I interviewed at Johnson O'Connor Research Foundation
Interview
This was probably the most negative interview experience I have ever had. They basically sit you down and give you a sheet with SAT/GRE words to define. It's absolutely pointless. No one on a day to day basis will be using words like "insouciance" and "persnickety". Their assessment only tests people's ability to memorize dictionary words. Not their analytical or communication skills. Very unfortunate choice for screening potential candidates.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Johnson O'Connor Research Foundation (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Process involves taking some tests, a couple interview rounds, and was very positive, engaging and relaxed. We work with clients of all backgrounds and ages so it is important to be an active and comfortable conversationalist on the phone and in person. We discussed my prior work history and reasons for leaving prior jobs. There was a one-on-one meeting with the director of the lab along with several other meetings with the other employees as the office functions as a small, tightly-knit team and collaboration is important.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They are interested in how you can work with clients of all backgrounds, as well as handle difficult customers in person and over the phone. You take a vocabulary test and measures of clerical speed to ensure the job's main tasks of administering and scoring tests can be done accurately.
