Juniper Networks hired an agency to source and prescreen applicants. After a phone interview with an agency rep, the applicant is invited to a 'job fair' style interview on-site at Juniper. It was very impersonal and made me feel like a candidate on American Idol where my only goal was to out shine the others with unnatural responses and gestures.
My experience with the hiring agency was also very awkward. The invitation and the instructions to prep for the on-site read like it was written by a college intern. Not very professional. Also, several references were made about their success in hiring recent graduates. I am not a recent college graduate and when I asked if this position was only available to recent graduates the response was that it's open to any age group. Weird.
Overall, the impression I walked away with was that Juniper is looking for very young, unexperienced talent. Company culture is not highlighted in this interview process which is a really problem that should be addressed.
