I applied online. I interviewed at KBD Edge (Des Plaines, IL) in Apr 2017
Interview
All of the interviews are exactly the same. Bring you in for a quick convo with a manager. Never tell you about the position until 2nd interview, which as long as you have a pulse you will get to. 2nd interview is at Starbucks, where they go through a very specific and memorized interview. The process is designed to establish trust with the interviewer as well as the company. Do not buy into their idea that 'direct marketing' is the most effective. Turnover is extremely high, there are no benefits, and it is 100% commission based.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me why you are the best fit for the position as we are only hiring 1-3 people out of the 300 applications that we received (which is a blatant lie)?
Hi Interviewer. Thank you for your feedback. As with any sales role, we do expect some front end turnover. After the initial training period, our turnover rate is pretty low. We're confident in our systems-based training program and have found that it's easier to train others when using replicable systems. We understand that not everyone enjoys working in a performance-based atmosphere, and encourage anyone looking to just show up and collect a check to apply elsewhere. Again, we thank you for your feedback.
