I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Keyence in Nov 2015
Interview
Dragged out! Inefficient! First its the physics test, then the screening interview, then the virtual interview, and then the personality test. I do not know what in the world that they are looking for in the personality test. Some others on here that have stated that they put " motivated, entrepreneur type of answers to the personality test" and that they still got rejected. Ther personality test is very vague and questions will likely have several bad options and several good options. Obviously the Company is Japanese and Japanese culture is very conservative. I opted to answer the questions conservatively as opposed to someone who would rather be dominate and in control and leading. Idk if they did not want me because I am a white male , that they did not have enough spots/openings, or if my personality test really sucked. The people that I know that work for Keyence in this role are usually attractive young females much like pharmaceutical sales reps. As someone who has a science background and good at presenting information about new manufacturing equipment, I honestly do not know what else I could have done.In lots of these jobs they tell you what to say anyway and its unnecessary to be a science wiz in order to succeed because its all about presentation and presenting the facts they want you to highlight about the product. I do not know what to tell you about the personality test.
