Fairly easy. Third party hire. Lack luster pay. Typical interview questions without any unexpected curve balls. Tour provided as per most interviews. Salary not discussed as it was likely already decided by the third party vendor that sourced candidates for employment. No negotiation.
The entire process was virtual recruiting. A bit long, but overall a good process. There were 4 phone interviews before the offer. The negotiation process was pretty straightforward and the result was an offer right at market for the role.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kindred Biosciences in Aug 2018
Interview
The interview process was bizarre. I was first told that the position had been filed. Then I was contacted in a series of phone call interviews. I was advanced several rounds to the senior director. I was told the last interview would be a video call. Not only was it not a video call, but when I finally did connect with the senior director, she was at a horse show and did not greet me by name. 10 minutes into the call, she said she needed to leave because her horse had just received an award and asked if we could pick the call up. When we did pick the call up, the announcer was so loud in the background I could barely hear the few work-related questions she did ask. She talked to other people around her during this time and I felt she barely listened to my answers. A few days later, I received a note that I would not be selected for the role. I have senior social media experience and FDA regulatory experience (as required by the role), and felt I did not receive respect or questions befitting of my experience that throughout the interview process.
