The recruiter called me 10 minutes after our scheduled time and did not allow me to ask any questions.
In the hiring manager call, I was required to give live feedback on Kiva's website and show work on my personal portfolio site. This was not an expectation set prior to the call. Additionally, I was asked to give visual feedback only. Multiple times in the interview I mentioned that I may not be a potential fit for this role if it is a marketing design position. The hiring manager assured me that she just needed to see more samples of my work via email after our call.
I sent work samples to the hiring manager and a thank you the same day, I did not receive a response. I followed up with the recruiter 1 week after my interview providing this feedback and I did not receive a response.
I was passionate about Kiva's mission but incredibly disappointed in my interview experience. Regardless of intent, this felt like a way to get free design advice for their current designer to update the website.
