Interview
A group assessment centre sort of situation. A few tables with 6-8 people. After watching several videos about Kmart's values and what behaviours the look for in staff we were given some situations to talk through with those around us and did some simple problem-solving questions. Staff members walked around and sat in occassionally. We were then selected for a brief one-on-one interview.
Submitted resume online and in store. A month later a call from the hiring manager was received and went through a 15 min interview in store, one on one with the manager.

I didn't undergo a formal interview, I was pretty much given the job upon applying due to connections with a current employee. Also due to it begin 3 weeks before Christmas, they were in desperate need for more checkout operators
