      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Kohl's (Hiram, GA) in Oct 2015

      Interview

Applying: My adventure with the Kohl's job hiring process began on the 25th~ of September. I had applied for their Seasonal Associate Position because I heard through my neighbor who's daughter's boyfriend (whom worked at the store) was spreading world that they had begun hiring for their seasonal positions. The afternoon after hearing this, I went onto the kohl's career website, located my local store, and applied online. About three hours after applying, I had received a confirmation email stating that I was invited to any of their pre-scheduled interviews. I followed the email's instructions, and had the option to interview the next day of the wednesday following it. I scheduled for wednesday. The schedule indicated that my local Kohl's store had roughly eight slots in total. I received another email confirming this. Interview: When I arrived early for my job interview, I was directed to their break room to wait for the two interviewers to finish interviewing the group of people ahead of me. I waited and after being joined in the breakroom by three other people we were taken to a back room to be interview as a group (four people in total). One by one the interviewers asked each of us separate questions about previous experiences, qualifications, and why we would be good candidates for the position. (Examples listed below) At the interview, they weren't specifically looking for POS's, they were interviewing all around seasonally. They asked our group if we had any position preferences, and I assume they went off of that and experience to determine if they should join the staff had they met their expectations. I was very intimidated by the interview because this was my first job interview, and the other people being interviewed had impressive repertoires. [ I was the youngest in our group (at 17), and I had been in a group with two 18 year olds and a bank teller with 29 years of work under her belt. ] I was certain that I hadn't received that job, but I second guessed myself. Being Hired: The next day, I received an email congratulating me on receiving the job. This email listed other linked forms that I needed to fill out on my own: Background Consent, Drug Test Consent, Employment Verification Form, and finally an Offer Acceptance Form. I was also given a pending date for orientation (roughly a month after my initial applying online). ***I did not receive another email until three days prior to orientation. Do not be discouraged by this, as it is normal. (I conspired with a couple of other employees over this and they also ran into this problem REGARDLESS of being hired in a season position. I do not know if this is just an issue with my store, but I just wanted to share this just in case there are some other first time kohl's employees who might run into the same issue. I was very nervous throughout the entire process because this was my all around my first job interview/hiring.) The follow up email discussing orientation gives out the time in which you need to show up. Until you know what time you have orientations, I would recommend keep your schedule clear because the orientation schedules can run anywhere from 10 am - 8 pm. This is what I know from my experience, and it could very much differ from any one else's. I am very excited to be working for Kohl's!!!

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Kohl's (New York, NY)

      Interview

I applied online at night and by the next morning I received an email asking me to choose an interview day and time. I arrived about 10 minutes early. I went to the customer service and they told me to have a seat in the break room. There was just one other person for an interview and he arrived about two minutes after me. The person giving us the interview was the assistant manager and she actually arrived about 10 to 15 minutes late. She said she was late because there have been a lot of new managers being moved around from different Kohl's stores and she apologized. The actual interview process was in a small office. I think we were only asked about four or five questions and we took turns answering. She told the both of us that we had good answers and after we were finished we filled out the availability sheet. She gave us a little card and told us that we should hear back within 24 to 48 hours via email. My interview was on Friday so I received an email with the job offer on Monday morning.
