I went through a multi-round interview process that was well organized and professional on the surface. The interviewers were prepared, thoughtful, and the role itself was clearly defined. Communication throughout most of the process was timely, and expectations were set clearly.
However, the experience became frustrating at the final stage. I was informed verbally by the recruiter that I had been selected and that an offer would be forthcoming, only to be told shortly afterward that the decision was reversed due to an internal candidate entering the process late. While I understand internal mobility considerations, this was disappointing, particularly after being told an offer was coming.
Overall, the interview process itself was positive, but the final handling of the decision could have been managed more carefully. Greater clarity around internal candidates earlier in the process would help avoid unnecessary confusion or disappointment for external candidates.
