Interview
The recruiter was difficult to hear as it sounded like she was out running errands. She asked me to give a high level overview of my job experience. After I did, she asked the biggest number of pages I managed at any job which then she went right into saying I "didn't seem to have the qualifications for what you're looking for, but let's keep going." Sorry, that doesn't soften the blow that you just put the death knell on the roll for me.
Recruiter then asked the typical question of name a complex issue I've dealt with anywhere I've been. I stated coordinating between 3 different tech stacks on the same domain to make sure all information is flowing correctly. She then all the sudden became knowledgeable in SEO and said "that's not a function of SEO, it's really webdev.". I took the high road and gently explained that there are multiple scripts that run and information pushed from one system to the other so it all has to be right and accurate. She quickly changed the subject.
I think she already made up her mind after her comment, 2 minutes in, that she didn't think I had the qualifications. Way to go, Lamps Plus. Recruiters should focus on how to respond, what to say (not say), and how to handle certain questions. She never followed up with anything and even her assumptions about some of the answers I gave indicated it was going to be a quick interview.
