I applied for a role on 9/19 and heard from the recruiter on 9/24, which initially seemed promising. I had a standard phone screen on 9/27, but during the call, the recruiter asked if I would be interested in a different position. I agreed, and we scheduled a video interview for 9/30. During the video interview, I asked about next steps and was told I would hear back in a few days to schedule another interview since the person in charge was out of the office.
Unfortunately, after several days passed without hearing anything, I followed up with the recruiter but never received any further communication. As someone who works in recruiting and people operations, I find this lack of follow-up disappointing. It’s not difficult to send a generic email informing candidates they have been dispositioned. This level of disregard is both rude and telling of how the company values potential employees.
