There's supposed to be 3 Rounds: - Technical Test - Technical Interview - Not too sure about this stage either a HR Interview or Meet the Team Got a chess moves on telephone keypad test, did everything asked of me but failed the test due to 2 lines of code missing in a 400+ line solution and so 2/6 of the chess pieces were wrong. (Yeah it's my own fault, but I'm still a bit salty after that one) The tech test isn't particularly hard, I think the scope of the requirements is a bit too large for what it's supposed to test, If it was a user story, I would have asked for it to be split into 2/3 stories. It also takes way longer than the 3.5 hours suggested if you want to do it all "properly": Solve the problem for ALL of the chess pieces, use class inheritance, implement the rules given that they want in a really specific way that is overkill for the situation, implement some unit tests, e.t.c.. I do find it interesting that they ask for quite a large test before you've had a meeting with anybody. and so I fear there may be signs of unrealistic deadlines / expectations, perpetual crunch and dealing with high levels of tech debt here if this is the response and they're too busy to even meet everyone they "interview". I do have to give them credit where it's due, I politely asked for more feedback from the reviewer and I got a prompt, helpful answer back, so it's not all negative, seems like you'll get a nice team to work with but a very interesting culture.
