I was introduced and represented through a contracting company. They handled a lot of the process.
I had 2 interviews - one phone screen, and an in-person interview. The phone screen was fairly routine. I talked with a manager that I would report to. He asked several questions that covered fit, leadership abilities, and a little technical aptitude. After that I was scheduled for an in-person interview.
I met with the hiring manager (the person I had the phone screen with) first. It ended up being a continuation of the phone screen, but in more detail. I also met with several team members and the groups architect. All went well.
When the idea of working at LexisNexis was first brought up I wasn't very keen on the idea. I figured it was a big stodgy company that didn't value technology and treated it as a cost-center. After finishing the interview I was delightfully surprised at how passionate the team was and how valued they felt by the company.
I ended up declining the offer only because I received a slightly better offer from a late-stage startup who was doing exactly what I wanted to do. I don't think I would have made a bad decision by accepting their offer.
