      English Teacher Interview

      29 Apr 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Prague
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lingua Viva (Prague) in Oct 2015

      Interview

Was sent an email for an offer of classes which at the bottom said "if you're not already a teacher please inform us of when you're available for an interview". From then it was a matter of when I was available and I was offered the job about halfway through the interview. At this point, they do not give you a choice or time to consider the offer, they jump right into signing a contract and delegating classes to you. The interview itself was fairly easy, lasted 10 minutes. They more or less just wanted a native teacher, so as long as you're native and have a TESOL cert, they will hire you. They may ask if you can teach grammar, as a lot of natives without teaching knowledge cannot. They are also interested if you can teach business English. However if you're a native and have a TESOL cert, the rest doesn't really matter. They also prefer teachers who are likely to stay in Prague.
