I applied online through the Living Goods careers portal. After a three-week waiting period, a recruiter reached out via phone to conduct an initial screening. This was a standard introductory call focused primarily on what I could recall about the position and my general background.
Immediately following the screening call, I was given a timed assessment. The test was strictly structured and focused heavily on evaluating the key technical skills and core competencies required for the position.
Ten days after completing the test, I was invited to a formal panel interview. The panel consisted of five interviewers.
The major drawback of this stage was the lack of genuine engagement. The interviewers spent the session reading questions directly off their laptops. Because they were simply reading out scripted questions rather than having a natural conversation or digging into my responses, the interaction felt highly transactional, robotic, and impersonal.
While the timeline between the test and the panel was reasonable (10 days), the final interview itself was a disappointing experience. Having five panel members read off screens completely stripped away the human element of the interview, making it difficult to establish any meaningful connection or have a dynamic professional dialogue.
