      New Grad Software Engineer Interview

      24 Mar 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lob (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2015

      Interview

Applied through referral, had a culture/background phone screen and coding challenge. Almost immediately after submitting my coding challenge I was contacted for availability for a technical call. The next day I was contacted for a second technical phone screen. Very soon after that call I was asked for onsite availability. For the onsite there were 2 technical interviews, 3 cultural, 1 logistics (salary, start date, etc), and lunch with a couple team members. Everyone was very kind, gave thoughtful answers, and seemed to enjoy the company. Interviews with the founders were also very interesting. I was told I'd hear a decision within 24 hours, but that was postponed due to decision meeting delays. After about 4 or 5 days I was informed via phone call that I wouldn't be receiving an offer. Overall the process was very fast and streamlined, with great communication, problems largely focused on skills relevant for the job less on puzzles.
