Had the initial screening with HR and when the question of salary came up, I had mentioned what I was earning at the time. This role was on the lower end but they had offered to discuss with the hiring manager to see if they could work on a higher salary. When they came back and said they would, I interviewed with the hiring manager (VP of Sales) who had said the position was for 20% less than what HR told me. I was "ghosted" after that and never heard back. Looks like they need to have better communication so they can be on the same page so they do not waste their time or a candidate's time.
