      Interview

The interview process with Loom was such a great experience. Although I did not get an offer I would totally do it all over again. It first starts off with a regular submission via their website along with a 1 minute video of why you want to work for Loom. You may be thinking, "seriously," but it was such a breath of fresh air to do something different. This allows you to download their video product onto your computer, so you can try it out and record yourself. The product is really cool! Not only can you record yourself, but it also records the screen of your choosing (if you have multiple screens) in the background! I took it a step further and reached out to a friend and asked them to submit me as a referral. On the same day, a recruiter reached out to me via email and set up a virtual interview for me a few days later. On the day of the interview, I spoke to the supervisor who was super awesome. You can tell she genuinely loves her job and was excited to bring in some amazing folks to help her build her team. I felt really bad as I couldn't turn on my camera for the Zoom meeting (it was my first time using Zoom), but she was so nice about it and proceeded forward. The interview lasted for 30 minutes. It was a mixture of behavioral interview questions along with unique questions such as, "If you were to do a Ted talk, what would your topic be about?" After the interview, I was told there would be two more steps. The next one would be an assignment, then the last step would be a Super Day (you get to meet several other team members on the team to ask questions and get to know each other). As mentioned above, although I did not move onto the assignment, the interview process was so amazing, I can only imagine what it would've been like to actually be on the team. If you're thinking about applying for Loom, I say go for it! But definitely bring your A-game! Download their video software and play around with it. It really is super awesome. I also love how Loom has a 'Roadmap' section in the bottom of their website that details all the new features that they'll be implementing or considering for the future. I see great things happening for this company! Hopefully I get another chance next time. Best of luck to all the candidates out there!
