I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement in May 2013
Interview
After applying to the job, the call-back took over a week to schedule an interview but the interview after the call was only within a couple of days if that. The Interview is usually two interviews in the same day or within a day or two of eachother. One with HR and one with your "hiring manager" of the department of the job you applied for...usually an Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager depending on the size of the store and number of employees. Overall, from Application Submission to Hire date, it is about 3 weeks. I've applied to 3 different jobs within Lowe's as well as the original hire date and they all have taken at least 2, usually 3 weeks.

Question 1
All of the questions start with "Tell me about a time when..." or "Describe a time when..." and many of them are redundant. An unexpected question I got a couple of times was one that asked about a time when I didn't understand what a manager told me to do and then I didn't do it right, how did I handle the situation? Or something along those lines. I feel like this sort of question is a test. I told them there is never a time I "Misunderstood" my manager because I never assume. I always make sure I understand completely what my task is even if it means asking my manager 10 times over to understand...I will not do the job wrong.

Easy. Online application then in person interview. It is not a difficult interview. They just ask basic questions and they are not hard to answer. It is not a hard job to get.
