      Sales Assistant Interview

      15 Mar 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Lush (London, England) in Feb 2016

      Interview

Found out about an job position via social media. Sent in a cover letter and CV as instructed. Was told to hear back by a certain date, which they did spot on and got told I was to attended a trial and interview the following day, which granted was last minute considering I also have another part time job, which I actually had to swap shifts with to attend. I couldn't compliment the staff enough they were lovely. But the trial shift was awful. I felt like a fish out of water. I was expected to demo to paying customers and sell products I had little to no knowledge of. I then found out that a customer I was helping and trying to dazzle was actually a member of staff. I'm not sure how this made me feel as I thought I was doing a good job, making a good impression by helping this customer buy products when in fact I must have sounded like a right idiot to this girl who I'm guessing was on the managerial staff. I felt like if they wanted to sort of role play they should have called it just that. Safe to say this drained the motivation that I did have. No disrespect to the company I will still always be a fan of the product, but the, somewhat pushy sales techniques are just not for me. Granted they are not the worst but just not my style. Much praise to the guys and girls who do work there and again no disrespect to the company, just sharing my personal experience

      Application

      I interviewed at Lush

      Interview

It was a group interview, very unconventional, hands-on, and activity-based, teamwork. They expect you to know their company values and ethics, which will carry over to your role. It was very relaxed and they made me feel very comfortable and heard.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lush (London, England)

      Interview

Was offered an interview and it was fairly casual - in the cafe, and it only lasted around 45 minutes. Pretty much immediately after I was offered a trial shift, and I went and it was kind of horrible because we didn’t know anything about the products, and it also wasn’t very busy so it felt like we were competing with each other to get a customer’s attention, only to not even be able to give them proper information and just have to guess. It was a bit embarrassing and we didn’t get paid either, but we got a free shower gel. I found out I got the job on the way home from the trial shift.
