I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Lyft
Two technical rounds with 2 different engineers, 45min-1hr each. The process was outlined in various emails before hand, and they were conducted virtually over web conference. Standard practice and technical interview, but focused on Frontend.
- Recreate a layout given a design

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lyft
They gave me some material to study related to systems, algorithms, and data structures one week prior to the interview. I studied all these concepts expecting to be solving an algorithms problem in the interview but went another direction and had to implement a complex component with plain javascript and HTML
- had to build a ui component in codepen

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Lyft (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2019
One phone screen ( asked about the background), one technical screen. The interviewer was very helpful during the whole process and tried to help out whenever I got stuck. It was 1 hour long.

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lyft in Oct 2019
Began with phone interview with a coding challenge. Then final round interviews, the first hour of which was a computer science coding interview (data structures) and the next hour was frontend questions.
- FrontEnd: build a circle that keeps a pointer and generates a "factory"

Anonymous Employee
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Lyft
Phone screen then 6 hour on-site (1 hour for lunch), overall positive experience, questions challenged frontend domain knowledge as well as algorithmic ability. A good preparation strategy may be to use Pramp.com and practice live coding. Challenges ability to come up with a working solution quickly.
- Phone screen in a collaborative code editor, live coding during the on-site on a laptop, focus on practical development knowledge and application
