      Recruiter Interview

      15 Mar 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lyra Health in Feb 2021

      Interview

The person who conducted the interview had pretty low EQ in my opinion. From the get go they had already judged me for working at a larger tech company, however the interviewer has also worked at larger tech companies in the past. They assumed that because I worked at a large tech company, that I actually couldn't do work and keep up with the pace, even though most of my career was based in start ups. I was surprised when I moved forward to the next stage and was given a Take Home Assignment. I wrote a 4-5 page recruiting strategy within the hour time frame they gave me, they responded 20 minutes later to say they want me to move forward to Video Interviews. I was wondering the entire time, how do I know they won't be using my work? The Video Interviews were fine. They 2 people I interviewed with seemed passionate about the work and asked standard questions. Unfortunately the on the interviewers came on about 20 minutes late to the Zoom call, which made for a pretty disjointed experience, but I tried to overlook it as I know tech issues aren't really in our control at times. I was a little surprised that they are just starting to ramp up DEI strategy, it seems like it's coming a bit as an afterthought and that their investors were perhaps putting a bit of pressure on them. Generally speaking, investors came up a lot, which led me to believe that they are are leaning heavily on them to help guide the company at this time.

      Interview

I work as a recruiter so I understand the importance of responsiveness. The recruiter at Lyra Health did not send any follow up emails after my initial screen, which is quite disappointing. Recruiting really represents the image of a company, and it's important to maintain good relationship with all candidates (whether qualified or not).

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lyra Health (Burlingame, CA) in Feb 2021

      Interview

Really smooth process that kicked off with a 30 min phone screen with the hiring manager. There was a 1hr take home assignment that provides the basis for thoughtful follow-on conversations with the internal team/stakeholders. Overall, very smooth and quick moving team with thoughtful communication.
