      Interview

Phone interview for basic experience and level of knowledge. They want to know you're qualified and intelligent before they bother bringing you in. Once you're in the panel interview they ask about your experience, family, hobbies, etc. NRL is a small team so they need to know that you will fit in well personality wise with the other staff members. It is an intelligent, friendly team and they work closely together and depend upon each other to accomplish the tasks necessary.

      Interview

Applied online, had a phone interview within the month, and was invited up two weeks after that. Throughout the process, the emphasis is on finding out if you know your own strengths and weaknesses. For the former, describe times when you used them; and for the latter, what did you learn from it / how have you improved. Other parts of the interview were professional (ascertaining you had the appropriate background) and personal (hobbies, workplace/area culture) in nature. Included lunch and a tour of the facility.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MIT (Cambridge, MA)

      Interview

First did a phone interview where there was typical STAR type questions. Only a few questions about nuclear power in general terms. Face to face interview consisted of a facility tour, face to face interview with 4 others, lunch, talk with HR and two other members of the staff. Overall very friendly. Mostly just asked about past experiences and other typical STAR type questions. Asked several times to describe my own weaknesses. No POSS tests required.
