I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mambu (Amsterdam) in Oct 2022
Interview
It starts with an HR meeting, where you will share your dream company expectations. The HR rep. will mostly focus on your communication skills and, of course, salary expectations. After that, there was a 2-hour technical round where I met with 2 employees. 1 of them is only there for ghosting the meeting. We can divide this round into 2 : theoretical interview/ practical interview (where we get our hands dirty).
After the technical round, there will be a manager meeting, where you will meet your future managers. In this meeting, you can ask really specific questions about the expectations from you. And also, ask every question that you have in your mind to them, you will get your clear answers.
The final stage is an HR meeting, where you will get your offer by word.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
There were questions regarding core java. In addition to that, you have to expect some questions about inheritance, collections, db performance, web servers, testing frameworks etc… Consider the things that you have written to your CV, mostly.
There were 2 questions that you have to provide pseudocode. And you will write to a text file, while sharing your screen. One question was about a programming question like a medium level leetcode ones. The other one was about inheritance again. You will be expected to talk about performance of the code that you wrote. Be careful with big O, memory usages.

Interview
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mambu
Interview
Interview process consisted of a 30-minute HR screen, a 1-hour call with the hiring manager, a 3-hour Go take-home assignment, and a final 1-hour technical discussion.
The process progressed to the final round despite a clear mismatch between how questions were posed and how answers were evaluated.
Several technical questions were underspecified. Attempts to clarify assumptions or constraints were treated negatively rather than used to align on the problem.
When answers did not match unspoken expectations, the discussion became adversarial instead of exploratory.
Evaluation favored prior fintech integration pattern familiarity over reasoning, problem framing, or explicit discussion of trade-offs.
Candidates without deep fintech integration background should clarify expectations early.

Question 1
General backend system design and reliability questions.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Mambu in Nov 2025
Interview
Applied in mid-September and got a quick initial response, but the process dragged on for over a month before I finally interviewed. The technical interview was terrible — a clear good cop/bad cop dynamic with interviewers who weren’t even part of the team I’d be joining. Hard pass, Mambu. I’m probably in for another month of waiting before getting one of those anonymous “thanks but no thanks” emails. Arrogance and greed killed tech.

Question 1
Basic SD interview, where you have 30 minutes to draft an architecture for a year long project , and where the interviewer expects to hear buzzwords (Idempotent! Scalable! HA!)
