The interview process at MAM is highly unstructured and seemingly endless. For the Salesforce Product Owner role, I completed two online interviews and one in-person interview at their New York office, totaling over four hours. Despite this, the hiring manager requested additional technical interviews along with two to three more rounds.
From the outset, it was evident that the company lacked clarity on its Salesforce strategy and management approach. In the second technical round, they asked me to perform hands-on tasks in real time, based on requests from part-time developers an unusual and unexpected requirement given my eight-plus years of experience in the field. At no point during the initial discussions was this process outlined, further demonstrating a lack of direction.
The approach of continuously questioning candidates' expertise gave the impression of micromanagement and an absence of clear objectives. Eventually, I received an email from the hiring manager stating that they were now looking for deep technical expertise in Salesforce despite the fact that I had already completed the requested hands-on exercises in front of them.
Salesforce implementation is about strategic thinking, logical design, and structured execution it is not a quick, plug-and-play solution. The entire process felt disorganized and ultimately proved to be a waste of time.
