Received a phone call to come in for a mechanical engineering position that was a "good fit" for me and made it seem like there was high interest in me. Arrived at the office and met with recruiter. Talked about my past experiences and what I am looking for career wise, then the recruiter asked me to sign this contract that states ridiculous things like if they get me a job and I don't stay there for more than a year I will have to pay a minimum of $10,000.00. Also the employer would have to pay marshall career service 15% of my one year salary and if the employer doesn't want to then I would have to pay that myself. The recruiter didn't tell me about any jobs or company names until I signed this contract and if I did then they could probably request that ridiculous payment if I hire on with a company they told me about even if I didn't use marshall career service. My girlfriend works with recruiters all the time and I have been introduced to some recruiters after this experience and everyone we came into contact with said this is not common business practice and to STEER CLEAR. BEWARE!
