Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself.
What experience do you have in retail?
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Marshalls (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
I print out an application out at home & turned it in to the store. I called a few days later & an interview was set up. Was a group interview of four applicants & three staff. We each took turns answering different questions asked by different staff members. The interview did not last any more than 15 mins. They called me around 5 mins after the interview when I was already almost home to come back & fill out some more paperwork. It was then they informed me I got the job & my guess was that they didn't want anyone to that didn't get the job to know they didn't that moment or want them to know who did get the job. I came back & filled out the paperwork, then it was told that the position I applied for was not available for the part/full-time I hoped it would be. They told me that it would be a five week temp job during remodel construction that had a small chance of materializing into a permanent employee position.

Question 1
Why do you want to work at Marshall's? Tell me about past experiences working & how did you deal with tough situations such as a angry customer? Do you work well under pressure? Basic questions as I did not have any work history besides volunteer work.
Was asked about where I saw myself in 5 years, past customer service experience, etc. If you list a language be prepared to speak it in the interview - especially Spanish or French
Applied online they called me and did a phone screening, and then invited me for an in person interview with the store manager. Process was simple and quick, and had no issues with any portion of the entire process.
