I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Marvin Engineering (Inglewood, CA) in Apr 2025
Interview
The interview process was belittling and careless. The interviewer was clearly unprepared and unprofessional — picking at their scalp throughout the conversation, making visible expressions of disapproval when answers didn’t meet their expectations, and responding to questions in a dismissive tone.
At one point, I was even challenged on the legitimacy of research I participated in, as if I was being interrogated rather than interviewed. When I asked about management style, the interviewer replied, “Your job is to make me look good,” and went on to say, “I’m not here to micromanage — I shouldn’t have to.” This was particularly concerning, especially for someone speaking to a new graduate eager to learn.
Toxicity radiated through the entire interaction. The interviewer came off as insecure, disinterested in the role, and unfit to evaluate or mentor junior talent. If you value your mental health, growth, or dignity, I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Question 1
Just to explain your resume. Absolutely no troubleshooting or test engineering style questions.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Marvin Engineering (Inglewood, CA) in Jul 2016
Interview
I interviewed with Marvin test systems for an electrical engineering position. The questions they asked me were just to see where I might fit in for the various positions they had to fill, such as technical writer, tester, or others. They aren't trying to trick you or anything like that, these are just personality questions to see if you fit with their company. The company makes it clear that they like to hire more experienced professionals that they know will be with the company for many years, and not new entry level people, because they want to make sure the person is with the company for many years.
