After applying, I received an on-campus interview with a panel of four people. Unfortunately the interview consisted of what I would call "canned" questions-- situational and behavior questions that do not allow the interviewers to get to know the candidate at all. The questions were asked in rapid succession with no follow-up questions. It seemed as though the goal was to get through the list of pre-determined situational questions rather than learn more about me. I left the interview feeling as though I answered the questions thoroughly and well, but despite this I did not get a good read on whether they thought I was a good fit for the university and office culture, etc. I think they could have benefited from a more conversational interview style which would have allowed both parties to learn more about each other. Also, I was not asked about anything on my resume or in my cover letter.
