      Project Manager Interview

      23 Jun 2016
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Match (New York, NY) in May 2016

      Interview

Quite possibly one of the best interview experiences I've had. I met with the right people; those who I'd interact with mostly-- a variety of mid-to-senior level management individuals (including VP-level). Each and every person was transparent, relaxed/kind/welcoming, engaged in the subject matter and asked questions in a way that, ultimately, turned the interview into more of a conversation, which was brilliant. When it came time to discuss an offer, I looked back at the people who I believe represented the personal work environment I'd ultimately be in and, having met with those specific individuals, made the decision that much easier (to accept, of course). And this was not an easy decision by any means, given that I wasn't leaving my previous company because of any extreme/particularly 'negative' experiences; Match provided me with the right opportunity, the right offer, the right people and seemed to give me the right long-term potential (relative to my professional development).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There were the typical, necessary interview questions re: vetting candidates, but in all honesty it was very conversational which, again, in my opinion, is the best way to 'get to know someone' and verbally relay a person's background, experiences, etc. My advice: be honest/transparent yourself, do your homework (obviously) and really engage with who you're meeting with.

      Product Manager Interview

      29 Jun 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Match in May 2021

      Interview

Submitted my application online and got a call from the recruiter. As a next step, I had to complete an assessment within a 24-hour period, which itself took roughly 3 hours to complete. After submitting, I was informed that they were moving forward with other candidates. Understandable of course, but considering the time I had spent on the assessment, I asked for some feedback. I followed up twice asking for feedback and received no response. If candidates are going through recruiter calls and taking several hours out of their day to complete an assessment, it's the least a company can do to provide some feedback when they decide not to move forward. I hope this experience only reflects on poorly managed interviews and not on the company as a whole.

      Product Manager Interview

      6 Oct 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Match

      Interview

I applied for the Product Manager position at Match HQ. Had an initial recruiter screening where we went over my resume. The Recruiter seemed interested in my background and I thought we connected well as we were able to bring humor into the conversation. Got ghosted after. Sent 3 follow-ups but never heard back. I think it basic courtesy to say "You were not selected bc of XYZ reason" to someone who has given time to your company

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Behavioral/Situational and resume-based questions. Why Match. Why PM. How you became a PM.

      26 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Match (Dallas, TX) in Aug 2016

      Interview

      1) Screening with HR 2) Product Questionnaire/Analysis (This was very extensive, it took me a whole weekend and many hours of research and app testing. They want to know what you think about each component of their app and other popular sites (Facebook, Amazon). 3) One hour analytics assessment (Excel, mostly based on conversion percentages) 4) 30 minute call with VP in a mock product scenario

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There were a lot of questions based on pricing, how to move users to subscriptions, A/B testing, etc.
