I applied through university. I interviewed at MathWorks in Apr 2020
Interview
Coding challenge and phone screens. Remote because of pandemic. Two phone screens of 2-3 questions each depending on how far you get. Got rejected after second phone screen. I solved the problems and seemingly gave satisfactory explanations, but there were a lot of general knowledge Java, object oriented and networking questions before hand. This will likely be different depending on your interviewer, but as my expertise was in Python, I struggled a little in these areas and that must have been the deciding factor. The interviewer was nice enough to make me think my coding would make up for it but I guess not.
